94 Texture: How To
Step 1
Now that you have printed your first parts, you must go about finishing it to achieve an OEM look.
after removing all supports, use a fine knife angled away from yourself, to scrape uneven surfaces flat. remove all debris and identify any defects.
Sand entire surface with 60 Grit sandpaper, until only minor defects and layer lines are visible.
Step 2
using a black filler primer (I use SEM products) liberally apply a primary coat to all surfaces.
Once Dry, sand back smooth with 80-120 grit paper.
If there are any defects still visible, repeat this step.
Step 3
from a distance of 12-16”, Spray SEM Texture coating in light passes directly onto the part. try to evenly coat the surface creating a uniform texture.
as soon as the SEM texture coating sets up and turns gray, lightly MIST SEM Landau Black Vinyl top coat onto the part. Again creating a uniform coating and sheen.
